Rhine in Flames Spectacular

Fireworks, Flames and Romantic Flair

Enjoy a picturesque summer getaway along the Rhine River. The highlight of this tour will be an evening cruise with supper to see the magnificent Rhine in Flames, which is the collective name given to a series of spectacular firework displays that take place each year on the Rhine River.

We meet in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, a cosmopolitan country in the heart of Europe. Our campsite is situated in the middle of the Upper Sauer Nature Park Camping near the Old Town of Ettlebruck

Our drive into Germany, takes us first to Bernkastel-Kues, nestling on the banks of the Mosel River. Here we have a vintage bus tour of the historic centre and visit a winery where we taste some of the famous wines the town is renowned for. Then we move to Rüdesheim am Rhine, an attractive town laying in the rivers gorge and renowned for its wonderful views. The narrow cobbled lanes of the Old Town, lined with wine taverns and gardens are certainly not to be missed.

We have included a visit to the fascinating museum of mechanical musical instruments. We will also enjoy the “Ring Tour” with a cable car ride up to visit the Germania Monument and get a bird’s eye view of the vineyards that cling to the sides of the Gorge as we return to the river by chair lift.

It is from Rüdesheim that you will board the river cruiser where dinner will be served whilst enjoying a leisurely cruise along the river. Then we join a flotilla of illuminated riverboats to take in the spectacle of the fireworks, pyrotechnics and experience the riverbanks and landmarks as they change into a magical red glow – an unforgettable experience.

Throughout this tour group activities are reasonably friendly for pet owners. The places included either accept pets inside or the duration of the excursion is such that pets can be comfortably left in the motorhome.
