Dear Fellow Motorhomer,
June and the days are long, making for great touring opportunities. Currently there are 3 GB Motorhome Tours taking place, with the most northern being in Norway, where there is very little darkness each night at this time of year.
Camping in Lunde, Norway – June 2026

Another reasonably northern tour is in Poland.
Krakow Camping, Poland – June 2026
With the other being much further south in Romania & Bulgaria.

The ultimate destination for the long summer days, where there is no night-time darkness is Iceland. GB Motorhome Tours will be travelling in Iceland again next year, where there currently remains some availability on the tour to visit this unique destination. Our Tour Directors travel through many countries and get to see a lot of different motorhomes. Recently in Bulgaria, the Tour Directors came across a very unusual conversion, a motorhome built on the Trabant. The East German made Trabant, colloquially known as the ‘Trabi’, was a budget-friendly small car manufactured between 1957 to 1991, and usually fitted with a 2-stroke engine. At the time of spotting this on, the owner was not around to ask if it still had the original 2-stroke engine. A quirk of the Trabi was a lack of a fuel gauge, in place was a fuel dipstick for checking when the next fuel stop would be required! A quick look through the windows showed it was certainly in use, along with it being somewhat heavily loaded on the rear axle.
Back in the UK, during the summer months GB Motorhome Tours have stands at two of the large outdoor motorhome shows; where a number of our Tour Directors will be on hand to chat and answer any questions you have. If you are at either of these shows, do come along and see us.

Motorway tolls are a common feature when travelling in many continental countries; thankfully this charge as yet, has not come to the UK. Holland was also similar, but from 01/07/2026 Holland will start charging for all vehicles over 3,500kg. This will be for use of any motorway and also cover some of their provincial/municipal roads, making it difficult to avoid tolled roads in future when travelling in Holland. However, foreign registered motorhomes can be exempted, with the completion of a free registration at www.vrachtwagenheffing.nl/en/register-an-exemption. If your motorhome is over 3,500kg, even if you don’t currently intend to travel in Holland, it would be a good idea to exempt it anyway. That way, when next travelling in Holland, it will be done ready and not over-looked.
Enjoy your summer touring and we look forward to travelling with you soon. Feel free to contact us if there is anything you wish to ask about a tour.
