Dear Fellow Motorhomer,
February and whilst it’s very rainy in the UK, for the motorhomes on this years Canary Islands tour they are enjoying warm sunny weather. The Canary Islands are 2,000 miles south of the UK, so touring there at this time of year means the winter is well and truly left behind.
Camping in Tenerife on the Canary Islands tour – February 2026
The 2026 Canary Islands tour is just a couple of weeks in, giving tour participants another 7 weeks in the islands to continue enjoying great weather. If you like to plan ahead and would also like to get away from a future winter, the next Canary Islands tour is scheduled for the start of 2028. To register your interest in this and receive the itinerary in advance of it being made generally available, send us an email and this will be done for you.
Before 2028 there is 2027 and another year of many great touring opportunities to be enjoyed. The GB Motorhome Tours 2027 programme of holidays is now beginning to be made available. The first five tour itineraries to be completed are
- Greece – April 2027 – Now available on the website
- Portugal – April 2027 – Will be released to the website early March
- Sardinia Island – May/June 2027 – Now available on the website
- Discover Iceland – June/July 2027 – Now available on the website
- Croatian Highlights – August/September 2027 – Now available on the website
The Sardinia Island 2027 tour is already fully booked. The Greece and the Croatian Highlights tours currently have places available and can be booked on the GB Motorhome Tours website. Additional tours for 2027 will be added to the tours programme over the coming months.
Ahead of 2027 there is the full programme of tours to be experienced throughout 2026. If you are looking for real adventure from a tour, then a cancellation place has just become available on the Western Turkey tour, covering September/October this year. If you would like to travel in this wonderful country with your motorhome, this could be a last opportunity, as the tour is unlikely to be repeated in the near future. Getting vehicle insurance for taking UK motorhomes into Turkey has become increasingly difficult post Brexit and over the last few months almost non-existent, with just the NFU (National Farmers Union) currently offering cover. If you are interested in joining this years tour the NFU should be able to provide the insurance required and don’t be put off by their name, it is not just farmers they insure. Feel free to contact us if you wish to explore this possible last opportunity of touring Turkey in your motorhome.
Other, closer to home tours with some places available for 2026 are
• Southern Norway – June for 23 nights
• Rhine in Flames Spectacular – June/July for 11 nights
• Austrian Alps – September for 16 nights
• Romantic Strasse to Oktoberfest – September for 15 nights
• Paris at Christmastime – December for 6 nights
If it may be a while before you are next getting away in your motorhome and it is going to be left unused for a period, consider parking it with the internal doors and cupboards left open, thus allowing circulating air to reach all areas to avoid damp forming. Likewise, for the fridge door leave this open to keep the fridge nice and fresh inside. If it’s safe to do so, also park the vehicle in gear with the handbrake off, to prevent the brake potentially becoming stuck through a period of non-use. Try to take the vehicle out for a reasonable run of 30 minutes plus every 2 weeks, which helps keeps everything moving and the motorhome in good order ready for its next tour.
We look forward to traveling with you soon. If there is anything you wish to ask about a tour, feel free to contact us, we are always happy to answer any questions.
Kindest regards,
