December and as the year draws to an end, all of us at GB Motorhome Tours wish you a Merry Christmas and all the very best for the coming New Year, with lots of great motorhome travels to look ahead to. Whilst the year is almost finished, we still have one more tour to start. The Scottish Hogmanay 2023 tour begins at the end of the year with a Gala Dinner to celebrate the arrival of the New Year. This is then followed with 9 days in Scotland visiting Edinburgh, Loch Lomond and Stirling. Recently the Wonderful Christmastime 2023 tour took place, with tour participants returning home this week. The tour spent time in Paris and Epernay, including an evening at the Moulin Rouge.

An evening at the Moulin Rouge also features in next years ‘Paris at Christmastime’ tour. If you would like to pre-register your interest in this tour, send us a simple email and this will be done for you. The tour itinerary will then be emailed to you in advance of it being made generally available, giving you first opportunity of requesting a tour place if you so wish at that time.
2023 has been a stable year for travel; after the turbulent previous 3 years of Covid interrupted tours. This has been much appreciated by all, with all tour plans having been fulfilled. During the year, GB Motorhome Tours escorted over 200 motorhomes on 15 very varied and exciting tours, ranging from 8 to 70 nights in duration. These tours covered destinations as diverse and far away as the Canary Islands and Cyprus, to the home countries of Ireland and Scotland; with all of continental Europe being covered in-between. Also on the website are all of the 2024 tours. Where there is another great selection of destinations for travel, including a new tour that has just been introduced for September 2024, the French Atlantic Coast. This is a 17-night tour taking in the picturesque coastal areas of Benedet, Pornichet, île de Ré and Côte Sauvage; also with time at ‘Puy du Fou’ and in Cognac. With this tour having just been released, places currently remain available to book.

Back at home and with some cool damp weather around, it is recommended cushions and bedding be removed from motorhomes and stored indoors to keep them from becoming damp. However, often the practicality of doing this is not easy, so an alternative can be to periodically run a de-humidifier inside the motorhome to keep moisture levels down. Also doing this for 24 hours before taking your motorhome on a winter trip can be particularly beneficial, ensuring you set off in a cosy & damp free van, perfect for the start of your winter time break.
