September is a really popular time to be touring. GB Motorhome Tours have 5 tours taking place throughout this month, spanning from Scotland in the north to Croatia in the east, Germany and Switzerland in central Europe and all the way south to Sicily.

With the weather in the UK turning, being away touring in warmer climates is a good option. For escaping the UK weather between now and the end of the year, there is still the possibility to join this years Portugal and Spain Discovery tour. Starting on 6 October from the UK, taking the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander, you are soon in warmer locations, which should remain as the tour travels south through northern Spain, the full length of Portugal and then as November moves on, around Andalucía in the very south of Spain. Another winter escape tour, is next years 70 night Canary Islands tour; running from January to April 2026, get away from the after Christmas cold whilst taking yourself and your motorhome for 70 nights of warmth and exploration travelling in the islands of Tenerife, La Palma and Gran Canaria. Before next year, if you would like to enjoy a get away to enjoy the build up to Christmas or to celebrate the arrival of the New Year, take a look at the Amsterdam at Christmastime tour and the Scottish Hogmanay tour, both remain available for booking.
For additional holidays next year, two new tours have just been added to the 2026 tour programme. These are
• June/July – Rhine in Flames 11 nights – Follow the river Rhine through beautiful wine growing scenery. Explore picturesque Germany towns along the way, to finish up with the spectacular Rhine in Flames evening cruise with dinner, wine and fireworks upon the river.
• September – Austrian Alps 16 nights – Enjoy breath taking scenery as we travel through the very best of the Austrian Alps, including driving the stunning Grossglockner High Alpine road.
Bookings for our tours are often made 12 months in advance. In addition to securing a place by booking early, another benefit of having a tour booked is the excitement that comes from planning for a holiday. This gives a positive energy and realisation that what often starts as just an idea is becoming a travel reality. A topic on many travellers’ minds post Brexit, is the 90 out of 180 day rule for travel within the Schengen Zone countries. This can be complex to work out, particularly when multiple trips are to be taken into consideration. If you need any help with checking your days when considering booking a tour, feel free to contact us and we can make the calculation for you. On this subject, it is increasingly looking like the Schengen Zone will finally be introducing the long planned for electronic border control of non-EU citizens entering the zone. This is scheduled to roll out from 12 October 2025, from which time it will become necessary to register bio-metric date (finger prints and face recognition) when next entering the Schengen zone. This will be done directly at the border, so no need to do anything in advance of travelling and once completed, will do away with having stamps in passports.
