Dear Fellow Motorhomers,
March is the month many of us start to think about getting motorhoming again after the winter. With the clocks going forward next weekend (Sunday 26th March), bringing the arrival of lighter evenings and the prospect of some spring sunshine it really feels like the right time to get travelling again.
For GB Motorhome Tours March is also the start of the outdoor show season, with us exhibiting this weekend (18th & 19th March) at the Newark Spring Motorhome Show and then in April (21st – 23rd April) at the Peterborough National Motorhome show. Both events are open to weekend campers & day visitors, and just in case the weather is not so kind we are indoors at both shows so do come along and see us. For getting away on one of our tours soon both of our April trips – Greece The Peloponnese & Northern Highlights and Undiscovered Spain & Portugal are now fully booked, however there are still some spaces available on two of our May tours – The Romantic Strasse (starting 13th May) and France with your Grandchildren/Children (half term week starting 28th May). Full tour details available by clicking on the names. Looking further forward we have been busy working on many exciting tours for 2018, just some of these are The Canary Islands, Cote d’Azur, Mosel & Rhine, Delightful Denmark, An Atlantic Coast Adventure, Poland, Czech Republic/Slovakia & Hungary and Croatian Highlights. Full tour details are available now on our website and we will continue to add further 2018 tours over the next couple of months so keep an eye on the website for many exciting opportunities to be escorted to great places throughout 2018. Tours for 2018 can be booked online at our website booking page or by emailing/telephoning us. For the summer of this year a last opportunity exists for one more motorhome to join our Discover Iceland tour (starting 3rd July 2017), this is a last chance to explore this unique destination in your own motorhome and is a tour that we will not be repeating in either of the next two years, so if you are interested in seeing this wonderfully geographically diverse landscape don’t miss this opportunity. Looking ahead to preparing your motorhome for use after the winter it is usual to refill the fresh water system following it being drained down for the winter. This provides a good opportunity to also clean the tank, pipework and taps with a solution of sterilising water. This is achieved by adding some sterilising tablets to your main fresh water tank, allowing them to dissolve and then pumping the water through to all locations by opening each of the taps for a couple of minutes. Leave the sterilising solution in the system for 24 hours and then drain down before refilling with clean fresh water. Water sterilising tablets can easily be purchased from somewhere like Boots, as commonly used for sterilising babies feeding equipment. If there is anything you wish to ask about our tours always feel free to contact us, we are happy to help and we look forward to escorting you to great places throughout the coming motorhome season. Kindest regards, Nurcan & Kevin, Sue & Ron, Chris & Alan, Joan & Martin, Sue & Eddie www.GBMotorhomeTours.com
