Dear Fellow Motorhomer,
July and the summer is here, with some hot weather being experienced in the UK. Across much of Europe it is hotter still, too hot for many motorhomers to find comfortable. For this reason, we plan our continental tours to finish by now. From three of the recently completed tours we feature a customer review, further tour reviews are available to read on the GBMT website at www.gbmotorhometours.com/reviews.
Delightful Denmark tour – June 2025
‘A huge thank you to Michael and Sarita. A great trip, lovely spending time with you and sharing the Delights of Denmark. Looking forward to our next trip.’ Gilly & Geoff Moore
Southern Ireland tour – June 2025
‘This was our first organised tour and we’ve had the best time. A massive thank you to John and Karen for making it so memorable and for all the extras that have meant so much. Rich and I like to venture out on our own as well as part of a group so have appreciated both group time and free time. We’ll definitely be planning more tours in the future. Thank you for a wonderful adventure.’ Alison and Richard Brian
Sardinia tour – May/June 2025
‘This tour seemed to go very quickly and yet it was very relaxing. The excursions and meals provided were all to the usual high standard and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Ron & Sue looked after us very well and we have discovered a new area of Europe.’ Penny & Mike Summers
The Sardinia tour will be repeated again in 2027, if you could be interested in this, send us an email advising this and it will be registered for you. You will then be emailed the tour itinerary in advance of it being made generally available, giving you first opportunity of reserving a place on the tour at that time, if you wish.
Whilst it is hot across mainland Europe, there is one tour that works best at this time of year. Our Discover Iceland tour is currently taking place; being so far north at this time is fine for temperatures; and spanning mid-summer gives no darkness, with it being light continuously for 24 hours every day.
Midnight on the Discover Iceland tour – July 2025
For the first time, this years Discover Iceland tour has been able to include the Westfjords region. This is the remotest part of Iceland, previously served only by gravel roads. Over the last few years these have been replaced in the main, with tarmac, opening the area slowly to normal motorhomes, albeit, the area remains very remote with stunningly beautiful and sparsely populated scenery.

Each year GB Motorhome Tours take many motorhomes to far and wonderful places; in the north as far as Iceland, in the south to the Canary Islands, in the west to Portugal and the east to Turkey, as well as everywhere in-between (click on any of the names to see next years tours to these destinations). Sometimes however, people just like to remain closer to home where wonderful places can also be found. For this September there is our Scotland Highlands and Royal Deeside tour taking place which certainly provides wonderful scenery without travelling too far and still has a place available if you wish to join. For the end of the year and a great way to see in the New Year, there is the Scottish Hogmanay tour and for next year, there is the Southern Ireland tour, both these tours remain with availability currently.
With the majority of our touring taking a break for a short period throughout the summer, GB Motorhome Tours have time to attend two of the large outdoor motorhome shows taking place over the next month. Here a number of our Tour Directors will be on hand to chat and answer any travel questions you may have. If you are at either of these, do come along to our stand and see us.
When travelling in warmer conditions and taking a ferry crossing where the motorhome fridge will be off, it can be useful to have a couple of ice packs in your freezer and upon boarding the ferry place these into your fridge. With the fridge remaining closed throughout the voyage, it’s an effective way to keep the fridge contents in good shape. This is also beneficial when also undertaking longer ferry crossings at any time of year, where the motorhome fridge will be without power for some time.
Enjoy your summer touring and we look forward to travelling with you again soon. Feel free to contact us if there is anything you wish to ask about a tour.
Kindest regards,
