Dear Fellow Motorhomers,
With Christmas just around the corner from all of us at GB Motorhome Tours we wish you a Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2017. Thank you for travelling with us during 2016 and we look forward to escorting you to many more great places in 2017.
Over the Christmas period, outside of the bank holidays, our office will be open to answer any questions or assist with any tour reservations you wish to make, feel free to contact us by email or telephone.
With a number of our 2017 tours becoming fully booked the festive season is an ideal time to make plans for next year’s holidays and for customers holding loyalty vouchers from any of this year’s tours remember these are valid for reservations made up to 31/12/2016.
Over the last week our ‘Magic of Christmas’ tour has been taking place in Belgium and Holland where the weather was very kind being dry and mild. Some customer feedback from the tour
“We have had a wonderful time, everything was very well organised and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, Sue & Ron. We met some lovely people in the group and will have some very happy memories. We would certainly use GB Motorhome Tours again” – Jean & Les
“Had a great time on our first escorted tour, Ron & Sue were great hosts, there if you needed them. Very well organised and we are looking forward to our next GB Motorhome Tour which is already booked” – Karen & John
Whilst on the tour one motorhome found an alternative way of crossing the border from Belgium to Holland in using a small chain ferry complete with Christmas tree.
Looking ahead, our next three available tours start in the spring of 2017, with two of these having been arranged so they can be combined if so wish. Our Italian Lakes and Gardens tour ends on 21st June in northern Italy and our Sensational Slovenia tour begins on the same day at a campsite just 30 miles away. On our Italian Lakes and Gardens tour there is a higher than average number of included excursions and group meals so expect to see a lot and enjoy plenty of great Italian cuisine. For Slovenia, whilst the country is only small it packs a huge variety into its size and we have many excursions arranged including the Lipica Stud Farm for a dressage from the Lipizzaner white horses of the Vienna riding school and a visit to the huge Postojna caves complex complete with underground railway system. Both tours currently have some availability.
Back at home during the months of winter it’s normal to recommend owners to remove cushions and bedding from their motorhomes and store indoors to reduce damp. Often the practicalities of achieving this are not easy, so a simpler alternative can be to periodically run a de-humidifier inside the motorhome to keep moisture levels down. Doing this for 24 hours before taking the motorhome out on a winter trip can be particularly useful, ensuring you set out in a cosy and dry van.
Have a great festive season and we look forward to seeing you in 2017.
Kindest regards,
Nurcan & Kevin, Sue & Ron, Chris & Alan, Joan & Martin
