August and the summer is moving along, with the school holidays now in full swing. This is a time of year when GB Motorhome Tours tends not to travel, it being generally busy and too hot in southern destinations to be comfortable. One exception is touring in Iceland, where the summer is the ultimate time to be there. It remains calm at this time of year and certainly is not too hot being so far north. This years Discover Iceland tour has just come to an end, where tour participants enjoyed visits to places that nowhere else in Europe can offer; volcanos & lava flows, glaciers & icebergs, craters & canyons, waterfalls & geysers, bubbling mud pool & hot spas, whales & seals, artic foxes & puffins, all are seen throughout the 28 days in Iceland. On the route back, the tour also includes a 3 day stop in the Faroe Islands. Made up of 18 islands, 17 of which are inhabited, many of these islands are now linked by undersea tunnels, including the recently opened 11km tunnel joining 3 roads using the world’s first undersea roundabout, as covered in the BBC video of the tunnels.

If you could be interested in touring Iceland on the next tour (probably in 2027 or 2028), send us an email advising this and it will be registered for you. You will then be emailed the tour itinerary in advance of it being made generally available, giving you first opportunity of reserving a tour place if you wish at that time.
With the summer moving on, so are the UK weather seasons; bringing the prospect of cooler and shorter days in the autumn. A good way to avoid this is to travel south at this time of year, to warmer climates. GB Motorhome Tours have two great opportunities for this;
Oct/Nov 2025 – Portugal and Spain Discovery 52 nights – Escape the UK Autumn for warmer climates as we travel south to discover Portugal from its north to south, the Costa Verde (Green Coast) of northern Spain and Spain’s southern most region of Andalucía. With lots of excursions and group meals included in this tour, the time away of 52 nights will be well used.
Jan-April 2026 – Canary Islands 70 nights – Take yourself and your motorhome on an adventure whilst escaping the after Christmas cold. We travel through 3 of the Canary Islands over 10 weeks: Tenerife, La Palma and Gran Canaria.
Both tours offer travel in good motorhoming conditions, with plenty to see along the way and currently have availability. With the tours being of a longer duration, they can also be done as a part tour if you only have a shorter amount of time to be away. For ideas on a part tour, send us an email and we can advise you of the possibilities.

For 2026 two new tours have just been added to the tour programme. These are
June/July 2026 – Rhine in Flames 11 nights – Follow the river Rhine through beautiful wine growing scenery. Explore picturesque Germany towns along the way, to finish up with the spectacular Rhine in Flames evening cruise with dinner, wine and fireworks upon the river.
Sept 2026 – Austrian Alps 16 nights – Enjoy breath taking scenery as we travel through the very best of the Austrian Alps, including driving the stunning Grossglockner High Alpine road.
Being just released both tours have availability. Before these for next year, there are two great Xmas & New Year themed tours also available:
Dec 2025 – Amsterdam at Christmastime 7 nights – Begin your build up to Christmas with a wonderful tour to Amsterdam, where it’s streets are illuminated for the cities ‘Light Festival’. The tour features a private evening dinner canal cruise and dinner in the Historic 1488 City Gates restaurant. 2 nights in beautiful Bruges are also included within the tour.
Dec 25/Jan 26 – Scottish Hogmanay 10 nights – Bring in the New Year with a traditional Scottish Hogmanay celebration and follow this with time touring in Scotland. We travel to Scotland’s capital city of Edinburgh, spend time on the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond and visit the ‘Heart of Scotland’ in Stirlingshire. It will be Scotland in January, the driving distances have been kept short and our excursions include indoor elements as well as some impressive Scottish scenery.
