April – the touring season gets started

Dear Fellow Motorhomers,

This year April see’s the start of the touring season for GB Motorhome Tours, with our Greece and Undiscovered Spain & Portugal tours both taking place. Our Greece tour is already underway with the group currently enjoying fantastic early spring sunshine and celebrating Easter Sunday with lunch in a traditional beach side Greek Taverna.

Our Greece tour group boarding the overnight ferry from Italy to Greece where you sleep in your motorhome upon the ‘Camping on Board’ deck complete with electric hook-ups, toilets and showers.

The southern Mediterranean countries are very nice to tour at this time of year when good weather can be enjoyed and the countryside remains fresh from the winter with the wild flowers a sight to be seen. If you’re also wanting to get away soon take a look at our next 3 available tours featured below and looking further ahead all our available tours for the next 12 months are summarised at the end of this newsletter.

April also see’s us exhibiting at two motorhome events, firstly over the weekend of 21^st, 22^nd & 23^rd April at the largest outdoor show of the year in Peterborough, where we have a stand indoors (number 300) so whatever the British weather come along and visit us. Over the weekend of 29th April to 1st May we will be at Chelston Motorhomes in Wellington, Somerset with a stand at their 2017 Ideal Motorhome Show, again if you are at this event do come and see us.

For all who have toured in Italy it’s probable you’ll be aware the Italians love their cars and mobile phones, often using both at the same time. In an attempt to eradicate this, Italian law now forbids the use of mobile phones whilst driving and the penalty for being caught doing so is an automatic two month driving ban for residents, and for other nationals 2 months forbidden entry into the country. Our Tour Directors Kevin and Nurcan are the first to pass through Italy since this introduction and report back, that so far the Italians are taking the new law seriously with very few spotted using phones whilst driving – long may it continue.
